The Parent Booklet provides parents with the Bereavement Card (shown to the right) they’ll use during office visits to identify themselves as bereaved parents, and initiate sensitive attention. The front of the card clearly states that the patient has experienced a baby loss, and the back gives you easy tips to make their follow-up appointment less stressful.
It includes 12 pages of information not usually provided by hospitals, which helps parents maneuver through the difficult days and months following a loss.
The booklet works best when given to bereaved parents at your affiliated hospitals before they are discharged, or can mailed to them prior to their postpartum appointment. Each 5X8 booklet includes:
• A Bereavement Card & instructions on its use • Tips to prepare for the postpartum visit after a loss • Questions to discuss with your physician • “Helping Yourself Heal” (topics discussed)
